THE MORNING NEWS was founded 2 years ago to bring islanders and tourists all the news of Aruba by the determined staff of the defunct publication, THE NEWS, the first English paper on Aruba, continuing a tradition of quality journalism and factual reporting.

THE MORNING NEWS is popular among island visitors and residents for complete and concise reporting of events, politics, and tourist news, while presenting a real “slice of Aruban life” to visitors wishing a clear window to island personalities, customs and culture.

Simultaneously, with officially opening their doors on March 10, 2010, the newspaper also went online, and statistics show it is extremely popular with Aruba’s dedicated visitors who wish to keep up with island happening between visits. Aside from online access, the newspaper is the official partner of Tiara Air Aruba, and can be found in the seat pocket of all flights, as well as an official news source for aruba.com, visitaruba.com and caribseek wire service.

The Morning News Aruba was born as a continuance of an idea that recognized the value of providing Arubans and visitors a better insight of what Aruba is all about. And idea that prospered for many years and whose light was sadly extinguished when Aruba’s first English newspaper, The NEWS, printed its last edition on October 30th, 2009.

Determined employees, not willing to accept defeat and despair, and in the spirit of hope as this beautiful season heralds, came together to preserve decades of skills and understanding on how best to built bridges between those who live here and the community of visitors who accepted the invitation to experience the island life along with us.

The Morning News Aruba represents the best in all of us. It will allow a window into what makes the community move, grow, love and live. It also tells a story of determination and of character, where passion for a craft serves as a beacon of faith, which in turn will contribute to inform, educate, entertain and simply engage every reader in the essence of Aruba and life in general. Former employees of The News, band together as The Morning News Aruba, illustrate the human will to overcome adversity, such as loss of a job and security. Our advertisers and contributors are the first to recognize that fire and to them, we offer a heartfelt ‘Thank You.’

Resourcefulness, self-reliance and courage are just empty words if not put into action. And with The Morning News Aruba, we are ready to face up challenges, confident in our ability to not only survive adversity, but prosper along with the entire Aruban community.

Happy readings on behalf of The Morning News Aruba team.

Ingrid, Rosalinda, Chandette,

Rosalie, Marlene, Yvonne, Yanis and Paula.
